Towards Sustainable Management of Urban Ecological Space: A Zoning Approach Hybridized by Ecosystem Service Value and Ecological Risk Assessment

چکیده
Massive growth is posing threat to the ecological security and sustainability of cities. Ecosystem service value (ESV) risk index (ERI) assessment can be conducted enhance urban ecosystem management through enhanced recognition these values risks in decision-making. This paper aimed measure spatiotemporal ESV ERI for Shizuishan City located central China, and, based on this, how zone space using land cover data (for years 2010, 2015, 2020). The options different zones were suggested mitigate manage any potential negative impacts security. Results show that: (1) spatial distribution characteristic “high south low north”. total exhibited an upward tendency from 2010 2020. (2) high-ERI areas distributed peripheral region, while low-ERI concentrated region. water was decline continuously, whereas wetland maintained a high level. (3) zoning approach integrating truly reflect status environment better clarify direction development areas. Among four zones, high-ESV (I) have abundant resources, they are set as “Priority Development Areas”. low-ESV (II) “Ecological Improvement Areas” because area lands confined. (III) fragile environment, “Exploitation-Prohibited (IV) mainly near wetland, “Research-focused

An approach towards effective ecological planning: Quantitative analysis of urban green space characteristics
In the best practices, planning of urban green spaces is managed in such a way that it follows the key principles such as meeting per capita standards and providing accessible and balanced distribution of these spaces all across the city. In the context of emerging economy, these principles are unfortunately not followed strictly all times. In this study, it is attempted to investigate Tabriz c...

Hazardous site management in the United States includes remediation of contaminated environmental media and restoration of injured natural resources. Site remediation decisions are informed by ecological risk assessment (ERA), whereas restoration and compensation decisions are informed by the natural resource damage assessment (NRDA) process. Despite similarities in many of their data needs and...
متن کاملGIS Based Measurement and Regulatory Zoning of Urban Ecological Vulnerability
Urban ecological vulnerability is measured on the basis of ecological sensitivity and resilience based on the concept analysis of vulnerability. GIS-based multicriteria decision analysis (GIS-MCDA) methods are used, supported by the spatial analysis tools of GIS, to define different levels of vulnerability for areas of the urban ecology. These areas are further classified into different types o...
متن کاملEcosystem services as assessment endpoints for ecological risk assessment.
Ecosystem services are defined as the outputs of ecological processes that contribute to human welfare or have the potential to do so in the future. Those outputs include food and drinking water, clean air and water, and pollinated crops. The need to protect the services provided by natural systems has been recognized previously, but ecosystem services have not been formally incorporated into e...
